A Governor Who Targets ICE? We MUST keep Eric Swallwell out!
Eric Swalwell of Fang Fang fame, is already igniting a firestorm after he publicly vowed to charge and arrest ICE agents and revoke their driver’s licenses for doing their jobs if he is elected Governor of California.
The comments were made during an appearance on MS NOW’s All In. During the interview, Swalwell argued that the governor of California has “immense powers” and a responsibility to “protect the most vulnerable.” He stated that if ICE agents “commit crimes” while conducting federal operations in the state, he would ensure they are charged accordingly.
He specifically referenced charges such as false imprisonment, kidnapping, assault, and battery, and added that ICE agents who refuse to identify themselves or who wear masks could be denied eligibility for a California driver’s license.
Swalwell said:
“If the president is going to send ICE agents to chase immigrants through the fields where they work, what I’m going to do is make sure that they take off their masks and show their faces… And if they commit crimes, they’re going to be charged with crimes.”
“If the president is going to send ICE agents to chase immigrants through the fields where they work, what I’m going to do is make sure that they take off their masks and show their faces… And if they commit crimes, they’re going to be charged with crimes.”
His comments were echoed across multiple outlets, including Ground News, which noted that legal experts have already raised concerns about potential conflicts with the Supremacy Clause, which prevents states from interfering with federal operations. Legal scholars, immigration officials, and critics also say the proposal raises serious constitutional and public‑safety concerns.
Opponents argue that Swalwell’s plan would:
Deter federal agents from carrying out lawful operations
Create a patchwork of conflicting enforcement rules
Politicize public safety
Expose California to lawsuits
Undermine cooperation between state and federal agencies
Several commentators described the proposal as “grandstanding” aimed at appealing to the far‑left wing of the electorate rather than offering workable policy solutions.
Swalwell, who is an attorney, knows that ICE agents operate under federal authority, and states cannot criminalize federal officers for performing their duties. But when has the law or the constitution ever stopped Democrats? They do what they want with no accountability.
Backlash From Border Officials
Swalwell’s comments come on the heels of another controversy: a Christmas‑themed social media post in which he shared an image depicting ICE agents raiding the manger of Jesus Christ.
The post drew sharp criticism from U.S. Border Patrol Commander Gregory Bovino, who accused Swalwell of choosing “illegal aliens over U.S. citizens” and mocked the congressman’s past association with an alleged Chinese spy known as Fang Fang, an issue that has followed Swalwell for years.
Bovino responded, “Yes, the last Christmas where un‑American pedantic dolts choose illegal aliens over U.S. citizens.”
The exchange reignited public discussion about Swalwell’s judgment and past controversies, showing that he is not fit to lead. Katie Porter, another "leader" of the Democrat party and Gubernatorial candidate has also proven she is not fit to lead after she had a public meltdown during an interview.
California’s next gubernatorial election is expected to be one of the most closely watched in the country, with immigration policy, public safety, and federal‑state relations all playing major roles.
Californians deserve leaders who show up to solve problems, not perform for cameras. Voters across the state are increasingly calling for common‑sense leadership. People who listen, who understand the struggles families and businesses face, and who focus on practical solutions instead of virtue signaling or political theater.
California’s future depends on elevating those who put the wellbeing of our communities first, who bring competence instead of chaos, and who are ready to rebuild trust by delivering real results. Democrats had their chance. They destroyed our state.
The path forward begins with choosing leaders who are committed to restoring stability, accountability, and hope for the years ahead. Support our Republican candidates running for Governor, Senate, State Assembly and Congress. Let's win in 2026 and make California golden again!
Carol Pefley
Candidate for Ca State Assembly.
