Populism and Trump's New Republican Party, Don't Be Left Behind

For years, the Republican Party has been locked in a tribal war of its own making with endless infighting, purity tests, name‑calling, and circular firing squads that did nothing but weaken us. Both factions of the California GOP care more about getting delegates to try to control the state party then they do about the people of California that they are supposed to represent. As a result of using outdated strategies, running Republicans against each other for delegates and constant infighting they let California slip away piece by piece as democrats trounced us again and again.

While we were fighting each other, the Left took everything.

But that era is over.

A new Republican Party is emerging. One powered by populism, fueled by grassroots energy, and unwilling to bow to the old guard. Donald Trump didn’t just disrupt the national political landscape; he shattered the old GOP mold. He awakened millions of voters who were tired of being ignored, being lectured, and of watching their state decline.

This new movement isn’t confined to America. Look at Javier Milei in Argentina, a chainsaw‑swinging economist who said “no more” to corruption and government bloat. Look at Spencer Pratt, who has unexpectedly become a voice for anti‑establishment, pro‑freedom politics. Look at Steve Hilton, who has championed citizen‑driven reform and accountability long before it was fashionable. They’re disruptors. They speak plainly. They fight openly. They refuse to bow to insiders.

That’s the spirit of the new Republican Party.

What happens today will determine the future of our state and of the Republican party in California. We have an opportunity to change the direction of our state and millions of lives hang in the balance. But there are those that are encouraging people to split the vote. If they can't have their candidate then they're willing to burn everything to the ground.

This election is about winning, not tearing each other apart but some Republicans are blind to the bigger picture.

By splitting the vote they are sabotaging our chance for real change. If they keep it up, they’ll be ruling over their own ashes, proud, pure, and politically irrelevant.

The rest of us? We’re done with that.

We’re building a movement that is bigger than one candidate, bigger than one faction, and bigger than the old guard that surrendered California without a fight. The grassroots are rising, loud, energized, and ready to take back ground that was abandoned years ago. We want results. We want reform. We want leaders who fight like they mean it. We Want to start WINNING!

This is the new Republican Party: populist, people‑powered, and unstoppable.

To those still clinging to the old ways, still dividing the vote, still attacking their own side, the train is leaving the station. Join us or be left behind

Carol Pefley for California State Assembly District 28

I’m running for State Assembly to help restore balance and bring common sense back to California’s government. I believe in a future where families can thrive, small businesses can succeed, and opportunity is within reach for all. This is still a great state—and with the right leadership, we can make it more affordable, more accountable, and more hopeful for generations to come.
