Who is the Democrat Party today?

This weekend a Sacramento lawyer known for his anti-Trump social media rants was arrested for shooting at a television station. A shooter at a country club reportedly shouted “Free Palestine” before opening fire and killing a man and wounding two others and it’s not isolated. Since Charlie Kirk’s assassination, the temperature has risen and the Left isn’t just angry, they’re unhinged. They celebrated the public execution of one of the few voices who calmly and respectfully debated these issues. And they called for more of it. That tells you everything you need to know.

What we’re witnessing are the final throes of the death of the democrat party, the last gasp of their desperate, flailing attempt to hold onto relevance as their own base begins to fracture. Instead of course correcting, they’re doubling down and have chosen to radicalize, censor, and vilify anyone who dares to think differently. Instead of reassessing failed policies or acknowledging when conservative ideas work, they double down on outrage, censorship, and identity politics. Their obsession with opposing Trump at all costs has blinded them to reality, alienated working families, and driven moderates into silence or defection and the louder they scream, the fewer people are listening. . Democrats have reached a point where opposing Donald Trump isn’t a political stance, it’s an automatic reflex. Even when his policies protect children, clean up voter rolls, or make our cities safer, they double down on outrage. Why? Because acknowledging anything good from Trump would shatter the narrative they’ve built their identity around.

So as violence replaces dialogue and debate, the party that once claimed to fight for the people is collapsing under the weight of its own contradictions. This is quite ugly to witness and makes me wonder how many more lives will be lost. How many more acts of violence will we have to witness and endure because of the violent rhetoric of the Democrat party and those members who could not even agree on a resolution condemning the assassination of Charlie Kirk. Kirk has long warned that when truth is silenced and lawlessness is excused, violence fills the vacuum and we are watching this happen in real time.

So as we come together today to honor Charlie Kirk’s legacy and stand for truth, we must also stay alert. These are not ordinary times. The political climate has grown darker, and gatherings like ours, rooted in faith, freedom, and remembrance are increasingly targeted by those who fear what we represent. So be aware. Keep your head on a swivel. Watch your surroundings, and trust your instincts. Whether you're at the memorial, a local church , country club, or any public space, be cautious and on high alert. This is not paranoia. We don’t live in fear, but we do live wisely. Let’s protect each other by being the eyes and ears for those around us. And let’s make sure that today is not only powerful, but safe.

Carol Pefley, Candidate for Ca State Assembly

Carol Pefley for California State Assembly District 28

I’m running for State Assembly to help restore balance and bring common sense back to California’s government. I believe in a future where families can thrive, small businesses can succeed, and opportunity is within reach for all. This is still a great state—and with the right leadership, we can make it more affordable, more accountable, and more hopeful for generations to come.
