AB 2017: Another Step in Sacramento’s Slow Unraveling of the West

Guess what California Democrats have been up to this week? Instead of fixing homelessness, crime, or the cost of living, they spent their week pushing AB 2017, a bill adding two Islamic holidays to the state’s official holiday list while treating Christmas like it’s radioactive.

And of course, our own Assemblywoman Gail Pellerin lined up and voted for it along with the rest of the democrats in the one party rule supermajority state of California.

The same people who choke on the word “Christmas” suddenly love religious holidays. Last December, Newsom couldn’t even say “Christmas” during the Capitol tree lighting. We got the usual bland “Happy Holidays,” which means nothing. But now Sacramento is thrilled to elevate Eid al‑Fitr and Eid al‑Adha, complete with optional school closures and “educational programming.” Funny how the Ten Commandments, Nativity scenes, or even mentioning Christ’s birth are treated like constitutional violations.

AB 2017 isn’t inclusion, it’s political theater. Supporters call it “recognition” and “diversity.” Meanwhile, during Ramadan 2026, extremist groups carried out over a hundred attacks worldwide, widely reported by multiple outlets .

Democrats keep reshaping California into something unrecognizable, and AB 2017 is just the latest example. They think they can rewrite culture without consequences. History usually proves otherwise.

Our country’s moral backbone didn’t come out of nowhere. It was built on Christian ideas about human dignity, responsibility, compassion, and the belief that people matter. Those values shaped Western culture into something that actually works, a society that defends freedom, protects individual rights, and steps up to help other nations when no one else will. Every time we walk away from those roots, we don’t become stronger or more “inclusive.” We become fractured, unstable, and easier to tear apart. Vote them out this November!! Before it's too late!
